I have to pass this on to others that fly because it could mean a huge difference in your well being. Back during the "Desert Storm" seige, there was a time where airport security was at its 'highest' (like now) and people were supposed to be throughly checked as they passed onto the concourses. I was working on an animation project and made regular trips to a lab in Dallas and carried with me as many as a half a dozen cans of unprocessed 16mm film. When I approached the x-ray machines, I told them I did not want my cans X-rayed. They said okay, but wanted to open them. I said they couldn't because there was unprocessed film in them. They looked impatient and annoyed, giving me my cans back and telling me to pass on through. They could not have seemed any more indifferent. For all they knew, I could have had plastic explosives in those cans but they just didn't give a damn.

On the one hand, I was happy not to have been detained for my flight back then. On the other hand, I would gladly succumb to a full body cavity search EVERY time I fly if it meant saving one single person from the fate we witnessed on Tuesday. Ever since my flights during Desert Storm, I was always afraid something like this was going to happen. Why do we have such low paid, disinterested yahoos in charge of spotting and catching terrorists?

Makes no sense to me.

....not bad for flying people around.

I'm sure the shareholders are happy.

Allegedly, one of the pilots qualified for Welfare.
